About Joy Bertrand
Joy started her legal career as a Law Clerk in Cook County Office of the Public Guardian in the summers of 1994 till 1995. Then she was an Assistant District Attorney in Milwaukee County from 1998 to 2005 and currently she is running her private law practice, called Joy Bertrand Esq. LLC which is focused on Federal Trial Work – Criminal Defense and Plaintiff side litigation.
She was also a Statewide Coordinator of Wisconsin Coalition Against the Death Penalty Fund in 1997-1998. In addition, she was also an Administrative Consultant for Blue Cross/Blue Shield United of Wisconsin in the summer of 1993, a Policy Analyst of State of Wisconsin Commissioner of Insurance in 1992-1993 and she co-authored with Steven Daniels and Mary Grossman in two publications that discuss Wisconsin Health Care Liability Plan litigation also.
Joy’s education qualification sums up to a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in Political Science from St. Mary-of-the- Woods College in 1991, Master of Arts in Public Affairs and Policy Analysis University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1993, Doctorate of Jurisprudence Indiana University-Bloomington/University of Arizona in 1996 and also she graduated from the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in September 2011. Currently, she is teaching on the Faculty of the Trial Lawyers College.
She is currently a member of the State Bar of Arizona & Wisconsin, National Association of Criminal Defence Lawyers, American Association of Justice & American Inns of Court.
